Defra consultation

Recently Defra has put out a consultation regarding booking systems for HWRC’s and preventing LA’s from charging for DIY waste.  The LGA has just responded to the consultation and their response can be found here https://www.local.gov.uk/parliament/briefings-and-responses/lga-response-defra-call-evidence-booking-systems-household-waste. We welcome the findings laid out by the LGA and we are pleased to see that concerns regarding fly tipping have been investigated with the result being that no direct links were found.

Here at Pentagull we are keeping an eye on how this progresses as we supply a large number of authorities with booking systems and each and everyone is a bespoke system designed to meet those individual authority's needs. We will continue to work with our existing and new customers to make sure that each system works for them and meets all requirements laid out.

To find out more regarding the proposed changes on DIY waste at recycling centres, read the full Defra article here - https://consult.defra.gov.uk/waste-and-recycling/consultation-on-diy-waste-and-call-for-evidence/
