We’ve been as busy as ever at Pentagull over the past few months!

We’ve been as busy as ever at Pentagull over the past few months and have yet another go-live to celebrate! South Gloucestershire Council have recently launched our HWRC Booking and Permit System, taking a significant step forward in managing site access and improving operational efficiency.

The system, now live, introduces smarter controls to reduce congestion and prevent commercial misuse, ensuring fair and sustainable access for all residents. On top of this, the system also tracks DIY waste levels - automatically flagging addresses that exceed four DIY visits within a rolling four-week period and blocking further bookings accordingly.

South Gloucestershire Council are also benefitting from the DVLA look-up included in the product. The look-up determines the make and colour of the vehicle from the registration plate entered on the form. This is extremely useful for the site staff as it helps them identify the vehicles as they arrive on site.

In addition to this, SGC are also reaping the rewards of our reporting features, providing them with key analytical insights, such as counts of bookings, permits, vehicle types, waste types and many more in a specified time period.

If you would like to speak to us about our HWRC Booking and Permit system or enquire about another system, please contact us at hello@pentagull.co.uk.

Waste Fridge
When waste rules change, Pentagulls flexible HWRC booking systems make the difference.

The current shortage of specialist treatment capacity for fridges and freezers is creating a difficult situation for councils across the UK. With processing capacity severely constrained, some councils have had to suspend collections, limit the number of cooling appliances residents can bring to HWRCs, or stop accepting them altogether. For residents, the message is simple: the rules have changed. For councils, however, changing the rules is only the beginning. They also need an effective way to communicate those changes to residents and manage what happens when people arrive at an HWRC
