A nice and exciting start to February!
Today has marked the day that our HWRC booking system took another step on the way to becoming sentient after our ANPR barrier integration went live at one of Moray Councils HWRC sites.
This now means that residents can book a slot to visit their refuse centres and complete the visit with the whole of the process being completed online with no need for staff resources to be allocated at any stage of the process. Utilising the ANPR cameras the council are able to free up their workforce for more important tasks while still getting useful usage data that can help them to shape and improve their services.
In our current climate especially the introduction of the barriers
means a huge boost in safety for staff and workers as they do not have to interact at all when arriving on site.
In the longer term it means that the site can run more effectively and efficiently as the members of staff normally managing queues on the gate or the single member of staff who would check in booked residents can now work elsewhere on the site where they are more needed.
For smaller less used sites it also raises the possibilities of letting sites run unsocial hours and remain unmanned with the system doing the dirty work, great for rural sites.
