ESB v18.10 Released

ESB v18.10 Released

Pentagull is pleased to announce that the latest version of the ESB platform, v18.10 is now available to our customers.

What's new for End-Users

Very little has changed for end-users in this release. If you have a keen eye for detail you'll notice that some areas of the user interface have been tidied up, however the bulk of the work in the 18.10 release has been aimed at System Configurators or relates to changes "under the hood".

What's new for System Configurators

A brand-new Manage E-mail Templates module based on MVC technology improves productivity when working with e-mail templates. It is integrated directly into the Edit Object Template page and offers improved hints when writing templates. You can expect further improvements to this area in the coming releases.

If you're a Global Administrator, you now have access to two new log viewers: One for outbound email messages and the other for outbound SMS messages - these are designed to make your life easier when troubleshooting email or SMS delivery issues. There's lots more going on in the System Configurator space, including support for longer form fields, improvements to the import/export process and much more.

What's new for Developers

Several new methods and properties have been added to the .NET API and SOAP/JSON interfaces to further improve the flexibility for developers integrating with the platform.

The auto-generation of configuration classes now includes document types, allowing you to refer to them programmatically without needing to define your own constants or use "magic numbers" in your code.

Pentagull's migration to Redis for high availability session state

Session state is an integral part of the ESB platform - we use it to keep track of logged in users, transactions that are in progress and a whole host of other bits and pieces that don't make sense to send to the client or store in the database. Because of this, the infrastructure that provides our session state needs to be highly available and resilient to both planned and unplanned events.
