Yet another local authority go-live with our HWRC Booking & Permit System

Oxfordshire County Council are the latest local authority to go-live with our HWRC Booking and Permit System, taking a significant step forward in managing site access and improving operational efficiency.

The system, now live, introduces smarter controls to reduce congestion and prevent commercial misuse, ensuring fair and sustainable access for all residents. One of the many examples of this is that the system automatically detects DIY waste levels. As a result, site staff are alerted of any addresses that exceed 1 DIY visit within a rolling one-week period, allowing them to charge on-site accordingly.

Furthermore, the system can identify any bookings made outside Oxfordshire’s five districts. Therefore, at the point of booking, the system automatically blocks out-of-area asbestos bookings. The five districts within Oxfordshire also have their own designated route through the booking form. This enables them to book a visit to the recycling centre to dispose of items that have been fly tipped or picked up via bulky waste collections within their respective districts. This also provides Oxfordshire County Council with valuable insights into volume and usage.

The system also has a built-in declaration form. Completed by site staff on our HWRC Booking dashboard, the purpose of the declaration form is for residents to confirm the waste originated from their own home. Once submitted, the completed form is sent back to the resident and also stored as a record on the system.

Oxfordshire County Council are also benefitting from the DVLA look-up included in the product. The look-up determines the make and colour of the vehicle from the registration plate entered on the form. This is extremely useful for the site staff as it helps them identify the vehicles as they arrive on site.

To conclude, Oxfordshire County Council are also reaping the rewards of our reporting features, providing them with key analytical insights. Examples include reports to highlight excessive hire bookings at the same address, all out-of-county bookings, a running count of each waste type deposited at every site, and many more, all within a specified time period.
