Here at Pentagull, we haven’t taken our foot off the gas recently and we’re excited to announce yet another go-live! North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) have recently gone live with our HWRC Permit system with DVLA and are already reaping the rewards.
NNC required a digital permit system for their 4 HWRC sites which would only be eligible for North Northamptonshire residents, while also being concise and user friendly. After a few months of hard work, that’s exactly what we created! The permit application form requires the resident to provide their vehicle registration, type of vehicle, address and declare that the waste they will deposit with the permit is from their own household. NNC have the ability to revoke a permit if they believe a resident has been non-compliant with permit terms and conditions.
This permit system includes a DVLA look-up, allowing the make, colour, year of manufacture and fuel type to be determined from the registration entered on the form. These details are then displayed back to the resident on the permit application so they can check they provided the correct vehicle registration. The make and colour are particularly useful for the site staff as it provides additional information to help them identify the cars that turn up on site.
NNC have also seen a huge benefit from the extensive reports that the permit system offers. These include a report that highlights the number of active, revoked and expired permits in a specified time range, the total number of authorised visits and permits that site staff have included a note against, plus many more.
